Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2019, Volume 13, Issue 4,   Pages 981-989 doi: 10.1007/s11709-019-0531-9

Abstract: Steel and steel-concrete composite girders are two types of girders commonly used for long-span bridgesFor steel girders, the orthotropic steel deck (OSD) is vulnerable to fatigue cracking and the asphaltWhile for steel-concrete composite girders, the concrete deck is generally thick and heavy, and the decklightweight composite bridge girders are proposed, where UHPC denotes ultra-high performance concretebeam and a UHPC waffle deck.

Abstract: This research investigated a pavement system on steel bridge decks that use epoxy resin (EP) bonded ultra-highThe results show that the resin bonded UHPC pavement structure can reduce the weld strain in the steelof the pavement interface from 1.3 MPa, and improve the bending resistance of the UHPC structure on steelbridge decks by about 50%; the bending resistance of reinforced UHPC structures is twice that of unreinforcedbridge decks under traffic conditions of large flow and heavy load.
